Repetiteur & Conductor

Peter McMullin was born in Plymouth and grew up there. He attended Lady Margaret Hall in Oxford University to read Music in 1982. After graduating and finding no money available to fund a DPhil, he took a job with Blackwell’s Music Shop and has worked there ever since. In 2004 and 2011 he was awarded the Printed Music Retailer of the Year award by the Music Industry Association, the first and the last time this award was given.
As a musician, he has carved out a niche as an accompanist, coach and mentor, working largely with young musicians trying to raise their performance levels. He is in demand as a conductor, has performed as a singer with The New London Chamber Choir, and sings regularly with the University Church Choir.
Other interests include jazz – both listening and performing – and occasionally playing flute in local orchestras.
